USB Flash Drives
Dear PNY:
Not sure if this is the right Department........
I am career Law Enforcement person who has purchased about 4 or 5 of your flash drives. While shopping at Staples one day, I came across your 8G flash drive that has a sliding protector cover on it. I have had good luck with your products so I decided to try this “new” flash drive.
I keep many of my records and important case information on it. One day while at work, I am looking for my flash drive and can’t find it. After turning my office upside down, I proceeded that night to turn my house upside down. The flash drive is nowhere to be found. I looked for it for several days to no avail. It was gone….along with my “records and cases”.
About 2 days later I am at the Dry Cleaners to pickup my uniform and ask the attendant if they found anything in my pockets. The Owner came out and said that he found something in the trap of the dry cleaner machine. Yes….it was my flash drive. The only thing that looked out of the ordinary was the plastic slide was no longer on it. The heat of the machine melted it.
I took the flash drive to my Tech Officer and explained the situation to him. He took the drive and placed it in his computer……EVERYTHING WAS STILL ON THE DRIVE AND IT WORK …….NO PROBLEMS. Attached is a photo copy of the drive and a new drive I purchased when I thought the original one was lost. The top drive has the cover missing. WHAT A GREAT PRODUCT.
I will NEVER by another flash drive if it is not a PNY. I told my story to Staples and said that if anyone asks about flash drives….PNY is where it’s at.

I own a PNY Premium 8GB SDHC. I left it in a shirt pocket and was washed and dried in a dryer.
Result! Still works great and nothing was lost. How about that.

This morning I found it in my clothes dryer, it had gone through and entire wash cycle and high-heat dry cycle in the pocket of my pants. To my pleasant surprise the drive still works flawlessly. I've read your other testimonials and believe I can top them.
I have a green Micro 8gb that is so vital to me that it is named "Andy's Brain." I back it up regularly, but even one day missed could be a killer. It has never had any problems.
When packing for a two-week vacation I couldn't find it, but I wasn't too worried. When I got back, though, it was not in any of the usual places. Or any unusual place, either. I gave up looking after a six-hour search.
Back at work the next day I asked everyone, but no one had seen it. Not too surprising - the darn thing is smaller than a postage stamp. Heading out to lunch, a co-worker bent down in the gravel parking lot and said, "Is this it?"
Yup. That was it. In one of the most popular spots by the door. The poor thing had been run over dozens of times. The cover was three feet away. After lunch I pried drive straight and - without much hope - slid it into the port. It came up immediately. None of the data was lost. I was - and still am - amazed.
Backing up you data is smart. So is buying a bulletproof flash drive. I am now a devoted PNY customer!
Hi, I just wanted to pass this story along about my Green 8GB Micro Slide Attaché USB Flash Drive (Green Part No. P-FDU8GBSL-EF/GRNS2)
I had accidentally left this USB stick in the pocket of my jeans and it ran through the washing machine over the weekend. After taking my jeans from the wash, I saw the USB stick on the bottom of the washtub and put the stick on the counter to dry. Yesterday, I slid the USB out and it didn't look damaged so I plugged it into a computer and was very impressed to see that it still worked!
I feel pretty lucky that it survived and just wanted to say thank you for making such a durable product!

I am writing this letter today to let you know how impressed I am with your PNY mini attache` flash drive (8 G). I recently, and my accident, put the flash drive in my pants pocket. Forgetting that I did so, I ran a load of clothes in the washer. When I removed the clothes, there was the flash drive. Needless to say, I thought the flash drive and all the data was destroyed. To my surprise, all the data was still there and the flash drive is still working. WOW!!!
Each year, I purchase flash drives for my students. I will most definitely purchase this brand and item when I make my next purchase.

Not sure where to send this, but wanted to thank you for the durability of your product. I have PNY Mini Attaché 16GB that I’ve had since sometime in 2009. This past week while conducting a conference out of the country, evidently I left the device in my pants pocket. Upon return, they were tossed in the wash – where I found it after it had gone through a full wash and dryer cycle. Much to my surprise, I plugged it in and everything operated perfectly – all data still fully intact and accessible. I know that’s definitely outside the design parameters, but it impressed me greatly. Many of my colleagues had other drives with them for their presentations, and many failed or had serious glitches – while the PNY performed flawlessly.

Hi, i'm julio and I wanted to share with you that my wife has MACHINE WASHED my Micro Swivel Attaché that was in my shirt pocket.
After a day of drying by itself IT IS WORKING GREAT!!!
This is not the first Attaché that my wife machine washes but the old one had the plastic cover...
I was not too confident about the survival of the micro swivel!!

Ok, so where do I start. Some time back I purchased a 4GB Optima Attaché jump drive...great drive, works like a charm! Well, a couple of days ago I was using the jump drive for a project I was working on, and of course, was transporting it back and forth in my pocket. Yesterday, my wife asks "dear, anything in your pockets before I run this load of laundry?" I responded with "absolutely not my dear" ;-) So, the drive makes its journey through the washer, then takes its turn in the dryer. As my wife pulls the laundry from the dryer, she see the drive fall on the floor (somewhat smelling like burnt rubber). At the time, I'm thinking that any data on the drive has made its way to byte heaven. Not to worry, I had the original files on my laptop, so it's all good. I couldn't resist plugging in the drive though just to see how bad the damage was....the drive still had that nice burning rubber smell, but it worked great - all the data was there, and worked without skipping a beat! Amazed!

Dear PNY,
I recently purchased one of your 4gb Microflash drives and I would like to share an experience with you.
First of all I knew I had to own at least one of these from the moment I saw them. I am a gadget kinda guy and I loved my micro flash drive.
Story: I didn't realize my favorite flash drive had worked itself off of my key ring. Being so small I don't notice it there or not.
I did however realize it has come off my key ring the day I removed my load of now hot dry laundry from our dryer and there in the dryer
was my favorite blue PNY micro-flash drive just resting in the bottom. I was truly bummed out because that also meant it had participated in a complete
wash, rinse and spin cycle previous to being dried at hot temps.
I thought I had nothing to lose and decided since it was now very dry, to plug it in to my laptop. Guess what
it worked fine and has now worked for two months without issue.
I don't know how PNY did it, but way to make a great product.
I am not sure if I got really lucky or if you built it idiot proof because of people like me.
Anyway, I had to tell you and thank you for a terrific product. (and a very clean one as well)

I just wanted to inform you that your business model is flawless because your thumb drives will never break nor will they fail.
I've had my 512MB model for about four years, and I just ran it through the washing machine and dryer accidentally.
Regardless, your product fought through the water and heat to live to fight another day.
With all of the negative emails that companies receive, I thought you'd enjoy one testifying to the indestructibility of your product.

Over a year ago, I lost a 8 gig flash drive. The drive was loaded with drivers, and utility programs that I used every day in my business. Today I found the drive in my yard, covered with mud. The drive has been out in the weather aprox. 1 yr & 4 months. I cleaned the drive and put in a computer. Every file was still on the drive and it works perfectly.

I just wanted to contact someone at PNY and tell them how great my 4 gig flash swing drive has been. I dropped it at work and it was ran over by a 10,000 lbs forklift which broke the outer case on it off but when I stuck it into a computer it worked perfectly. After this I had it in my shirt pocket and my wife washed it in the washing machine. When I got it out and put it in the computer guess what? It worked perfectly! Just had to tell you guys this was the only product I had bought so far from you but from now on I’m looking at your products first! Thanks!

I’m Les, 24 from State College Pennsylvania. I wanted to let you know how great your products are.
This past week has been very hectic at my IT company. Many upgrades, system failures, and just random troubleshooting.
While in the process of setting up a new Computer that we managed to through together, I used my 8 gb PNY Attaché pen
drive to install much of the software that our clients use. I was setting up the pc when I realized only half of the memory was installed.
I quickly powered down the machine opened up the side of the case, turned it on its side and then … crunch.
The usb ports on the side I had been using still had my thumb drive in it.
I turned it back over to find the Pen Drive in a nice right angle from the Pc while the metal usb plug was still in the tower.
I grimaced as I slowly bent the usb plug back into place. Seeing how it was still in one piece,
I connected it to another computer. Everything use for work is on this pen drive, and it’s been ages since I last backed it up.
Amazingly the amber LED lit up and windows auto play popped up.
I was able to pull off all my data from the pen drive, while the broken plastic casing rattled around.
I got all my files backed up and amazingly my thumb drive has not died yet.
I’m still using it even now. Thank you for making a great product.

You will be pleased to know that I have been using a PNY Attaché 1-GB Flash drive flawlessly for at least four years now. But the incredible part is that, appropriately two years ago, I accidentally deposited the drive in a load of wash. My immediate expectation, of course, was that all data was lost and that the drive was permanently, irreparably damaged, and never would be of any productive use to me again. (Important data was on the drive without backup anywhere else, as I recall—a major error.)
But to my exceptional surprise, after the load of laundry had been lying in the washer for a few days, and most of the items were dry, my curiosity urged me to hook up the drive—and it worked without a hitch: no data loss; perfect performance. Proof of this event having occurred does exist: The entire plastic casing slips backward when I remove the drive from a host device (tower or laptop)—exposing some of the circuitry. But I simply am careful, and the drive continues to work as if brand new!
I will never purchase another brand of Flash drive again!!! I would be very pleased to speak with someone at PNY about my exciting and reliable experiences with my Attaché drive.

Hi there!
I just bought the PNY Micro Flip attache (4GB) and I wanted to write you to
let you know that it was not my first choice. Because of the popularity of
their name, I went with SanDisk first. I bought a 4GB Cruzer from Staples,
and it didn't work. I figured that happened from time to time, even with
the best of companies, so I brought it back (to a DIFFERENT STAPLES) and
exchanged it. THAT ONE FAILED TOO!
That's when I decided to try the Micro Flip Attache (it caught my eye).
Works like a charm! It's fast, elegant, and very very small (the Cruzer was
bigger, clumsy, and felt like it was going to fall apart). I like the
Micro Flip so much I went and bought another one (as a back up).
Now, I KNOW for a fact that the higher-end SanDisk products work
exceptionally well, but when it comes time to get one of those products,
I'm going to get a PNY instead. Why? Because I just don't trust a company
that makes products which I can only trust the "higher end" versions of.
In today's economy, the only way a company can survive is to offer high
quality in ALL of their products, even the cheap ones. I lost that
confidence in SanDisk, and found it in PNY.
So I wanted to let you know that you have a new permanent customer. I am
very happy with your products so far (and you'll be hearing from me if that
changes!) and I've already spread the word on Facebook about my experience
and swayed others to purchase your products as well.

I have one of your flash drives and I’m just so impressed by how much information it holds I use it everyday but it still hasn’t run out of space. My mother is a data collector and she uses one of your flash drives to store all of her data all the teachers at every school uses them there are so many different selections to choose from I spend hours at a store just deciding with one out of hundreds I’m going to buy. I would enjoy it even more if you made more durable cases for them so they are protected if they fall. I can’t thank you enough for making such as amazing product.

I am not sure if I have the correct PNY dept. I thought I would let you know that I am very happy with a PNY flash drive I purchased from a local dept. store. On 11/1/09 I was doing some laundry and I accidentally put my flash drive into the wash along with all the clothes. The flash drive went through a complete wash cycle and I discovered the flash drive when removing the clothes. My daughter took the flash drive and dried it off with a paper towel and put it into my pc. The flash drive worked after getting washed. I would like to say you make a great product.

Do I have a story for you. Over 5 weeks ago I enrolled in a class Adobe Photoshop CS4 extended, I down loaded some of my photos to work on in class. The next day I couldn't find my memory stick (PNY 8 G memory stick) I searched everywhere. I went back to college to the computer room the instructor and I continued to search to no-avail.
I wrote it off as a loss. Several times a day I take my dogs for a run at an old abandoned farm. The people that own it mow the tall grass and make bails of hay. I took my dogs out there today and I found the memory stick. It survived the rain, cold, heat, the cutting of the grass, and bailing. I'm still using it. Wow! What a product.

Hello and thank you. I recently with a large number of great technical professional lost our jobs due to outsourcing. I purchased a 8 gig usb flash drive and had placed all of my photos from tech trips to Spain and Canada along with my resumes. Needless to say these were very dear to my time with this company and working peers. Today I found out how well engineered your usb drives are. I accidently left my drive in a pants pocket dyring a hot water wash and hot dryer. I was terrified when I found my drive in the dryer and very hot. Thinking that I had lost something that ment so much to me I let my drive cool down and plugged into my usb port and found all my information still on my drive and very ussable. It has been very hard since loosing my job and even this week loosing my father. This was an uplift.

I carry a PNY Attaché flash drive that I use quite extensively for business use. I have a bad habit of placing this drive in my pocket to transport back to my house to work on my laptop. Last week, I could not locate where the flash drive was since it was not in its usual place. I was very concerned due to the content that was on the drive.
My wife found the drive in the washer a couple of days ago. To my pleasant surprise, the drive still worked and no files had been damaged. The drive is not noted as a waterproof drive. I was amazed that it went thru a washing cycle and a drying cycle and still works to perfection.
I think I just became a life long customer.

I would like to commend you on an excellent product! I recently washed my 1GB flash drive in the washer that had broken off my key ring, on super wash cycle. I pulled the cap off, dried the port connecter, and plugged it into my computer, and voila! It still worked and I didn't lose any information! I didn't think it was waterproof but I won't do it again, mind you lol. Thanks again for making a superb product!

The reason it looks so bad is it was run over by my jeep yesterday.
The coupling to the computer needed repair but the drive works great.

I don't think this is going to the right person, but your email is the only one I could find. I just wanted to let your company know how happy I am with the 1GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive I purchased. Not many companies can claim what I am about to tell you. I forgot to remove the flash drive from my pocket before I threw my clothes in the washing machine. I only found out it had been through the wash when I removed my clothes from the drier. I was sure it was ruined, going through not only the washer but the drier too. However, not only did it appear to be intact, but none of my information was lost and it still works. I am very impressed with the quality of your product and just wanted to give you a pat on the back.

Just minutes ago my wife brought me my clothes from the dryer, dangling from the hamper was my PNY 256M flash drive. I’m sure I don’t need to inform you guys what this flash drive just went through, we have a kick ass washer and dryer set. I was on my laptop when she brought me the clothes. I grab the flash drive and plugged into the usb port and to the surprised of everyone in the room the thing blink as usual and came to life! Thanks for making good stuff!

Once I thought that all Flash drives were created equal. Then I was proven wrong. While in one of the labs on campus earlier today, my drive was hit, quite hard, and ripped from its case, bent quite harshly and several connections were broken. I was utterly broken because so much information was quite probably lost due to an accident. Upon returning to my dorm I sat down and began to slowly and carefully bend it back into some semblance of normality and much to my surprise I found that I had a working flash drive and I was able to retrieve my information and store it on my hard drive. I give thanks to PNY for creating a product that even under horrendous circumstances held up to my expectations. I know I can purchase future flash drives from PNY and recommend them to others peaceful in the knowledge that it will perform and live a very long useful life.

I recently purchased a PNY 1GB All Terrain Attaché drive at Fry’s Electronics here in Las Vegas, NV. I purchased this after having a 128mb Attaché which I used for several years and never had any issues with, other than after such a long time I needed more space. I just wanted to share with you that the other night while out shopping my new Attaché came out of my pocket (as I always carry it) and fell into the parking lot. Of course it bounced quietly on the ground and it was left there un-noticed. When I came out of store I saw it sitting in the ground and noticed that it had been ran over at least once by a car, as it had tire tracks on it. The cap was partially off and the USB connector had bent slightly. I was able to straighten it to near new condition when I arrived at home and it slides in and out of my USB ports just fine, and is working just as it always has.
I just wanted to write you and thank you for a very successful and rugged design that you have come up with in this new flash drive. I had no idea how tough it would be until this recent experience. While it was not a huge investment, I feel that I have already gotten my moneys worth given that I still have my data and I was not out this afternoon acquiring a new one because of one mishap. Thank you, I hope that you continue in your commitment to quality products in the future as I will no doubt need to replace this drive eventually, most likely with another of your products.
